SIEVE

Privacy policy

Last updated 24 September 2026

SIEVE is a search tool that investigates a question on the web and shows a verdict with exact quotes and sources. This page explains what we collect when you use it, and what we do not.

What we collect

What we do not collect

What happens to your question

When you search, your question is processed in memory to run the investigation. To do that it is sent to third parties: the Jev AI service (by TypeSafe), which makes the decisions in the investigation; and search sources such as DuckDuckGo, Bing, Wikipedia, PubMed, Stack Exchange and arXiv, which return results. We also load the web pages those searches find. Those services receive your question and see requests from our servers, not from your device, and they have their own privacy policies. Please do not put personal or confidential information in a question.

Cookies and storage on your device

Who processes your data

We share data only with these providers, only to run SIEVE, or if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep your account details and search counter while your account exists. We keep waitlist details until we finish the API launch or you ask us to remove them.

Your choices

You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the data we hold about you, including your account and any waitlist entry, and we will do so. You can also remove SIEVE's access to your Google account at any time in your Google account permissions.

Children

SIEVE is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If a change matters to you, such as a new use of your data, we will make it clear on the site.
